Senior Settlements Administrator

Reports to: Settlements Supervisor

Key Relationships:

Internal – Settlements Supervisor, Settlements Manager, GTT, Operational peers and managers.

External – All Custodians and Brokers

Background 

The principal function of Settlements Team is to support LGIM’s global trading activity covering the settlement of all Securities, Repos, Foreign Exchange and Money Market Deposits.

Trading must be processed effectively within principal systems throughout   the   trade lifecycle, in line with market and regulatory standards, providing robust support to the business areas based on service level agreements.

As the diversity and base of the business rapidly changes in support of the international expansion, the focus of  the function is on achieving results coupled with the need to stay focused whilst continually recognising and adapting to changing conditions.

•To proactively support the settlement activities of all Fixed Income, Equity and Repo transactions in accordance with market and regulatory standards

•Contribute and support the Investment Operations strategy within the daily functions you cover

•To be pro-active towards improving procedures/processes within the Settlements environment, recommending any required changes to processes or system capability

•Contribute to the promotion of an effective Settlements function to support all LGIM market traded instruments/products

•To be flexible in attitude towards day to day processes and issues, also to changing market practices and the ever changing requirements of the business.

•Ensure all external market deadlines are met by pro-actively monitoring all queues and ensuring that all trades have been settled accurately and in a timely fashion, ensuring minimal loss to LGIM  

•Effective escalation of all settlement issues to the supervisor

•Releasing authenticated instructions to the Custodian for all settlement transactions automated or manual, acting as an authorised representative of the company within prescribed limits

•Ensure that all internal deadlines are met and liaise effectively with other Operational teams, IT teams, the Global Trading Team, Custodians and Brokers on any settlement issues

•Work collaboratively with peers in Chicago and Asia Operations team

•Undertake special project work including support and implementation of future systems developments as directed. 

•To be flexible in learning other aspects of work within the teams, to assist and cover if required

•To support the senior G3 and Settlements supervisor when needed
