We are seeking an experienced Fund Manager Day to lead and manage the Pooled Solutions Team

  • Responsibility for the fiduciary management of clients’ Matching assets using pooled funds (Matching Portfolio Management)
  • Day to day management of the pooled solutions team including allocation of resource to meet Pooled LDI solution requests, MPM, review of client materials
  • Key point of contact for the business for queries (where appropriate)
  • Planning and overseeing development of the pooled solutions fund management tools
  • Pro-active idea generator within Solutions
  • Providing assistance to the Head of Solutions Fund Management
  • Subject matter expert in derivatives
  • Engagement with clients and consultants including pitches
  • Pro-actively seeks to improve processes and reduce risk for the Solutions team
  • Interaction with a wide variety of LGIM colleagues across a range of investment teams as well as sales, distribution and client relationship colleagues
  • Team work within a professional, highly motivated team, to meet tight deadlines

Essential

  • Management and/or structuring of a significant number of LDI mandates, including pooled LDI, at an asset manager, bank or specialised team within a consultancy.
  • Extensive knowledge of the following instruments and experience of their use:
  • Inflation swaps
  • Interest rate swaps
  • Swaptions and swaption strategies such as swaption collars
  • Exchange traded and OTC equity options and option strategies
  • Familiarity with the LDI market and recent trends in holistic solutions for pension schemes. 
  • Knowledge of UK pension scheme risks and their liability structure and benefit increase types.
  • Knowledge of regulatory developments which will impact OTC derivatives, repos and LDI markets for pension schemes.

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of other assets classes and holistic solutions used by pension schemes outside of LDI.
  • Knowledge of process for collateralisation and margining of derivatives. 
  • Experience working with investment consultants and pension scheme Trustees.
  • Investment knowledge of legal documentation required for LDI mandates.
  • Professional qualification such as FIA, CFA.
