We are seeking an experience Analyst to help Support the Asset Risk Control (ARC) data platform month-end support process.

Business as Usual (BAU)

  • Duties include running the month process, participate on pre and post month-end review meetings ensuring all tasks are captured appropriate to the client requirements, incidents have been raised and have a problem record associated as well as the change team for permanent fix.
  • Ensure that the quality of data requirements, delivery of reports and any improvement of the underlying technologies for all the internal clients are fulfilled. Analysis of any issues and requests must be followed through and accomplished based on the set service level agreements.  
  • Maintain the integrity of systems/services within the remit by fully investigating all incidents and resolving them in a timely fashion, adhering to IT Service Management principles (ITIL). Ensure all incidents and defects (problems) are accurately recorded and timely updated as per the Incident Management Matrix and SLA.
  • Responsible for monitoring the upkeep and performance of all the platforms. Monitoring the state of the network, database servers and informatica servers. Informing the Infrastructure team of any issue and working together to resolve the incident.
  • Establish a culture of correcting the problem at source within the support team – ensuring that feedback loops to change initiators and/or business users are closed
  • Proactively highlight potential capacity, performance or operational issues and take preventative action where necessary
  • Ensure all documentation is appropriately maintained and easily accessible in the knowledge base
  • Be part of an out of hours on-call support rota as required. Active out of hours support on month end periods is expected.

Change

  • Contribute to technical platform solution design by attending development meetings
  • Develop ETL bug-fixes and small enhancements to existent BAU processes and applications
  • Define comprehensive unit and integration tests for all developed code
  • Raise JIRA’s for identified bugs and to provide strategic solutions
  • To raise Problem tickets for resolving major repetitive incidents
  • Work closely with the development and infrastructure teams for any upgrades or implementation of new platforms or systems. Closely monitoring each phase so that the appropriate sign off is achieved. Make all recipients aware of the latest technologies and benefits.
  • Attend the weekly change meetings for awareness and the implementation of new systems.
  • Gate keeper for new code transition into production, including review of Informatica ETL and SQL code against standards, agreeing and co-ordinating implementation of changes with business and technical teams and ensuring adequate technical documentation is available for transition into service
  • Provide technical support and advice to users, developers, stakeholders and the business. Liaise with other IT staff and / or with external providers as required to resolve complex hardware / software problems
  • Undertake trend analysis, highlighting repeat issues and take responsibility for resolutions including liaising with end users and development teams to identify the best solution.
  • Raise Jira’s and conduct feasibility studies for all strategic solutions involving incidents which require a longer term fix.  Propose to relevant recipients such as the business, infrastructure or development teams.
  • Responsible for the Informatica platforms maintenance, upgrades and ensuring the preventative measures are conducted within the given budget. Must ensure that the best procurements are achieved for short term and long term maintenance.

Technical Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certificate (preferable but not essential)
  • Able to design/develop and support complex ETL processes and identify areas of optimizations
  • Must have played ETL support/development role for data-warehousing and reporting marts in a financial services organization
  • Experienced in testing, debugging and performance tuning of ETL processes
  • Expert SQL, including stored procedures (ideally PL/SQL), analytical SQL and query tuning
  • Understanding of data modelling and logical / physical database design
  • Experience on identifying performance issues on the Oracle server and resolving them in a short period of time.
  • Experienced in networking and firewall setup and configuration. Able to troubleshoot and direct the technical support team.

Essential technical skills / tools

  • Informatica PowerCenter
  • Informatica IDQ
  • Oracle DBMS (preferably 12c)
  • Linux / Unix command line and shell scripting
  • Secondary technical skills / tools:
  • Informatica DVO or other ETL testing tools
  • Informatica Metadata Manager
  • Business Objects / Tableau reporting tools
  • UC4 (Automic) or similar scheduling tools i.e. Control-M.
  • Jira / Confluence
  • ExaSol DBMS
  • Strong network knowledge and practical experience
  • Good understanding of firewalls and rules
  • Trouble shooting on Linux servers for resolving performance issues

Business Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of Investment functions for an Institutional Fund Management company. Ideally IMC, or other qualifications or courses demonstrating an interest in the business
  • Must have worked in a fund/asset management company as a ETL Support Analyst / Developer / Technnical Data analyst / Business Analyst / systems analyst
  • Proven good business analyst skills
