We are seeking a Head of Asia High Yield Research to be the point-person and face of the Global HY franchise in Asia, helping to build and maintain the necessary brand equity with counterparties and clients

Head of Asia High Yield Research

  • To ensure that  the Global HY team is able to competently cover, manage, and evaluate all relevant Asian HY investment opportunities and risk positions
  • To be a key resource to support the growth of the Global HY and EM HY business in Asia
  • To be the point-person and face of the Global HY franchise in Asia, and helping to build and maintain the necessary brand equity with counterparties and clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyst coverage of the Asia ex-Japan USD HY market, with primary responsibilities including, but not limited to, initiating and evaluating HY investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and developing financial and cash flow projection models
  • Operate and maintain the Asia HY credit research platform, working closely with the other members of the Global HY team in London and the US, in particular the EM HY portfolio manager in London
  • Support the Global HY team’s marketing efforts
  • Support the expansion of the Asia business including, but not limited to, the expansion of operations/roles in LGIM Asia, i.e. credit trading functions GTT in Hong Kong

 

  • Strong credit analysis ability, so as to accurately assess the credit worthiness of HY companies
  • Strong spreadsheet modelling ability, so as to efficiently and accurately model the companies the team looks to invest in
  • Excellent knowledge of the companies who are existing issuers in the Asia HY space (mainly issuers in Greater China, Indonesia, and India)
  • Excellent understanding of the Asian HY market
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • In depth investment research experience
  • Educated to degree level, ideally with CFA or CPA
  • Fluent English speaking, ideally with Bahasa or Mandarin
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications & Bloomberg
