We are currently looking for an experienced Developer to join the Cost & Charges project team.

Although this role will primarily focus on core coding and development, the team operate a fluid cross-functional structure, thus the incumbent is also expected to participate in solutions design, business data analysis and provide direction for QA testing.

As such, it would suit a candidate who is interested in working in other aspects of the project and can use their initiative to shape solutions rather than just code to specification.

Project Overview

  • The Cost & Charges delivers towards LGIM’s reporting obligations that are driven by both regulation (MiFID II, PRIIPS, DWP) and client requests.
  • The objective is to develop an end-to-end STP process and replace the current partially manual Run procedures with a strategic reporting platform.
  • The project is being run using an Agile Scrum methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Although the role is primarily a developer role we expect the candidate to act in a hybrid capacity and participate in data analysis, data shaping and modelling, technical querying of code and testing. In addition, the candidate is required to answer business queries related to the data.
  • It is essential that the candidate has strong SQL skills. Exposure to Python and VBA is advantageous. Prior experience of investment management is a must while, more specifically, understanding of trade processing and fund accounting processes and experience of regulatory reporting would be beneficial.
  • The candidate has to be a team player and a self-starter who should be able to hit the ground running and be able to quickly assume the role.

  • Advanced-level expertise in SQL
  • Experience of VBA and Python beneficial
  • Knowledge and understanding of data models, sources, schemas etc.
  • Excellent data analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally on other non-developer typical tasks such as business data analysis, formulating QA test cases, process analysis and data shaping and modelling
  • Exposure to Agile and working within a Scrum team environment desirable
  • Preferable good knowledge of the buy-side operational life cycle within an Asset Management firm
  • Good understanding of trade processing and fund accounting highly beneficial
  • Strong communication skills, to cooperate effectively across technical and business teams

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Our employees have a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, at least 22 days’ (with potential to rise to 25 days) holiday, performance related bonuses, a variety of share schemes, discounts at both a huge range of high street stores and our own great products, your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.
