LGIM are looking to build a team which will be tasked with ensuring that robust and appropriate business processes are defined across the breadth of the core operating model. This team will combine a holistic understanding of the firm and its strategic objectives with a clear vision of how and where the firm should look to evolve in the future.

It is essential that the firm understands their current and desired capabilities in order to  identify how the business needs to change prior to the design of supporting applications and infrastructure, and it is through this team that this understanding will be gained.

Furthermore, the team will be tasked with producing detailed process maps which can be used to implement workflow and other technology capabilities.

To that end, the team will comprise of two principle functions:

  • Business Process Review & Design
  • Business Process Modelling (BPM)

This job description focuses on Business Process Review & Design

The BPD Engineer will bring knowledge they have gained within the investment management industry to help design and document business processes needed to  support:

  • Exploration of new business opportunities which are likely to have an impact on the current business operating model or require a brand new operating model.
  • Major change initiatives which look to re-evaluate current business and technology capabilities and re-align them to firm wide objectives
  • Where existing operating models are deemed high risk  by the LGIM’s risk committee
  • A review of a business function’s capabilities or processes upon request from the LGIM management team
  • The BPD Engineer will generally be expected to be involved in areas which are of significant value or concern to the LGIM management team. The BPD Engineer will provide support for ensuring that the scope of the issue is fully understood, the design of the potential solution is based on best practice either from elsewhere in the firm or in the wider industry and will assist in reviewing the implementation of the designed solution.

Please note: Although this role is advertised as a grade 4 we would be happy to consider candidates at grade 3 depending on your experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of and understanding of the day to day operations of a global firm, preferably in the Investment Management industry
  • A general understanding of Business Architecture and Business Analysis principals and how to apply them
  • A general understanding of Lean principles and how to apply them
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain process design concepts and technologies to key stakeholders
  • A well structured and methodical individual.
  • Ability to  challenge current working practices and offer alternative ways of working
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical and strategic conceptual thinking
  • Ability to organise and run structured workshops/assessments across multiple business functions with demonstrable end product
