To provide a full service to a specified desk area, incorporating the complete workflow of portfolio monitoring processes to ensure that delivery and reporting is timely, accurate and of the highest quality

To provide a full service to a specified desk area, incorporating the complete workflow of portfolio monitoring processes to ensure that delivery and reporting is timely, accurate and of the highest quality.  To act as the point of contact for your desks and build expertise across their fund groups.  The above is achieved by;

Portfolio Monitoring

  • Ensuring the monitoring of all IMA/Regulatory/client guidelines for funds under individual responsibility are captured in Portfolio Monitoring systems
  • On-going maintenance and improvement of the portfolio monitoring processes with a focus on standardisation and automation

Portfolio Monitoring Reporting

  • Timely daily review of all breaches and accurate interpretation
  • Timely escalation and resolution of portfolio breaches and fund manager warnings.
  • Timely and complete production and distribution of breach reports
  • Ensuring the Head of Portfolio Monitoring is kept informed of all progress and issues

Documentation

  • Question and challenge contradictory/inappropriate guideline proposals/amendments with IB/CRM’s etc.
  • Liase with relevant business areas to agree and maintain timetables for specific desk reviews of current guidelines.

Team Integration

  • Forming and maintaining effective working relationships with Portfolio Monitoring team members and other Risk analysts
  • Maintaining an open and effective dialogue with Fund Managers in relation to monitoring issues, reporting and client changes.
  • Forming a view as to the appropriateness of the data being captured and the quality of the supporting monitoring and reporting infrastructure.

Client service

  • Thorough review and interpretation of client guidelines into FOG document
  • Sign off processes and procedures followed
  • Desk review process followed, meetings scheduled and amendments completed in line with SLA’s
  • Development of key stakeholder working relationships
  • Knowledge of client products and rationale behind investment

Value Add/Other

  • To help produce team MI for distribution around the business
  • Support the LGIM Counterparty risk process by continually reviewing and raising where possible restrictions to mitigate unauthorised exposure.

Professional Requirements

  • Solid and relevant experience of market trade compliance management
  • A solid understanding of the investment process
  • Knowledge of markets and products
  • Good asset type knowledge
  • Intermediate to advance Excel knowledge

  • Strong communication skills – especially in relation to fund managers and client teams
  • Determined, self-motivated and resourceful to achieve objectives
  • Ability to absorb, interpret, apply and communicate information effectively
