LGIM is seeking a full-stack developer with strong Java skills is offered the opportunity to work within an Agile environment as part of a development team delivering projects for the distribution and investment operations business areas.

The role will cover working front-to-back on the build of both new and established applications working with users and stakeholders across IT and impacting multiple business workstreams. The development teams are small, focused groups using a Scrum methodology with JEE/Microprofile/JavaFX & PostgreSQL as the core platforms and products; and RESTful services, Websockets and JSON are the key technologies. 

  • Day-to-day development of business requirements within a team using Agile/Scrum approaches.
  • Support of other developers within the team with design and build work.
  • Compliance with LGIM code quality measurements (coverage, complexity etc) and documentation of practice, processes and software.
  • Manage/coordinate and track the build of requirement stories for each sprint/release.
  • Prepare, plan, manage dependencies and provide support for releases into Production working with delivery managers and technical support teams.
  • Work with business analysts and architects to define, plan, provide technical solutions and estimates for both high level and detailed business requirements.
  • Work with QA/testers to understand testing requirements of build/functionality and contribute/input into testing automation approaches.
  • Work with business users, product owners, delivery/project managers to support project planning activities.
  • Contribute to the wider developer and technical team communities/groups at LGIM to promote process improvements and best practice.
  • Mentoring/support and line management of junior developers where appropriate.

  • Knowledge and appreciation of CI/CD
  • Relational Database Systems & SQL – preferably exposure to PostgreSQL
  • Maven 3
  • Jenkins – Including Pipelines
  • Degree or equivalent experience are preferred as minimum.
  • Production of functional/design specifications.
  • Liaison with Business Analysts, QA Analysts and end users
