LGIM are seeking an experienced Nexus Scrum Master, responsibilities include the management of the product backlog, organisation and planning of the team, tracking & reporting of progress. Sprint and release planning, facilitating scrum ceremonies, process improvement & coaching of the team. In addition you ewill manager the insured self sufficency (ISS).

  • Responsible for management and prioritisation of the product backlog with the Product Owners
  • Work with Product Owners to maintain a clear vision for the Feature(s)
  • Work with the team to create and achieve OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)
  • Own and manage the delivery roadmap for the Feature Team where each iterative delivery can be tracked to a business value and OKR
  • Work with the Product Owners to understand the importance a regular deliveries and a minimal viable product
  • Work with the Product Owner and Business Users to ensure the current highest priority items are being addressed. Ensure the business and the development team are aligned
  • Keep the backlog current and reflective of the latest delivery goals
  • Timely planning of sprints and releases to ensure that the team are focussed on the right things at the right time
  • Lead by example using agile best practices, seeking new ways of working and improving the velocity and quality of the teams' outputs
  • Coach the team to encourage self-organisation and flat structure
  • Empower the team to own the sprint goal and backlog

 

Academic Qualifications

  • Graduate calibre, although degree not essential

Technical and Professional Qualifications

  • Ideally IMC, or other qualifications or courses demonstrating an interest in the business, demonstrated history of learning, particularly in the front office environment.  For example, conferences or specific training courses relating to the investments business.
  • Scrum Master Certification

Experience and Background

  • Ideally have experience in Asset Management
  • Demonstrated ability to help develop product backlogs from high level design at feature level; to detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Must be able to demonstrate a collaborative approach with developers and subject matter experts to establish the approach to features and ensure good communication of requirements
  • Must have experience of release and sprint planning
  • Experience and knowledge of velocity improvement through continuous improvement
  • Must have experience of running a scrum team; facilitating ceremonies and coaching the team 

Competence and Characteristics

  • Stakeholder Management: Must be able to engage with a diverse group of people and create strong partnerships with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts and End Users
  • Communication: Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills; be energetic and dynamic in approach and engage with the wider Nexus team
  • Leadership: Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and coach the whole team to improve how change is delivered and unite a team with a clear, common purpose
  • Team: Facilitate daily scrum/stand-up to ensure the whole team are communicating progress and issues. Have ownership of the backlog and delivery plans both short and long term

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • Good knowledge of portfolio management & trading operating models
  • Good knowledge of Investment functions for an Institutional Fund Management company
  • Sound knowledge & experience of Agile work management tooling e.g. Jira
  • Experience of running retrospectives and implementing Continuous Improvement within a development team
