To support the Pension Director, Independent Governance Committee (IGC) and Mastertrust in the successful implementation of pensions strategies, operational effectiveness investment monitoring and performance standards.

To support the Pension Director, Independent Governance Committee (IGC) and Mastertrust in the successful implementation of pensions strategies, operational effectiveness investment monitoring and performance standards.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Work closely with the Secretary to the Trustees and IGC to ensure effective IGC/MT Board Meetings, by supporting the writing and collations of papers, liaising with presenters (internal & external), and following up on actions.
  • Work closely with the Pension Director and L&G Business Representatives on the MT Sub Committee meetings, by drafting and agreeing agendas, when necessary, write, collate and consolidate papers, liaising with Committee Members and speakers and following up on actions.
  • Work closely with the Pension Director and L&G Business Representatives on the quarterly Mastertrust Employer Group (MEG), by drafting and agreeing agendas, employer invites, write, collate and consolidate papers, liaising with presenters, production of slides for chair and following up on actions.
  • Support the Pension Director with annual member events for both MT and IGC, liaising with internal and external speakers, draft, agree and issue agendas, support in the production of slides for the chair and executive director, work closely with the events team and communications team.
  • Review the IGC and MT Websites and agree content with the Pension Director, liaise with Communications Team to ensure its current and changes are made in a timely manner. Collate feedback from customers via the websites and log and respond to policy holder and member queries accordingly.
  • Work closely with the L&G businesses and external parties on the annual Mastertrust Assurance Framework Audit, collating evidence on controls and measures in place, drafting report
  • Work closely with the Pension Director and L&G businesses and external parties on the production of the annual Mastertrust Report and Accounts, collating and supplying evidence required, drafting ‘chairs’ statement.
  • Work closely with the Pension Director and the L&G businesses and external parties on the production of the annual IGC Governance Report, collating and supplying evidence required, drafting ‘chairs’ statement
  • Support the Pension Director with ‘ad hoc’ meetings, by arranging venues, accommodation, travel, attendee availability, access, recording decision and actions where necessary.
  • Support the Pension Director with miscellaneous tasks, including arranging signatures for MT documents, development of content and approval for literature/communications, payment of MT/IGC related invoices, managing expenses,

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate level education, PMI Qualifications previous experience supporting a senior role within Financial Services, investment management or a large pension scheme

 

Knowledge:

  • Experience and knowledge of DC workplace pension product solutions and marketplace (Occupational Trust, Contract, Mastertrust) would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of ‘best’ DC and automatic enrolment practice

Skills:

  • Demonstrable communication skills, the ability to articulate and convey information in a clear and compelling manner in writing and in person.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness
  • Confident, willing to take initiative and a team player
  • Ability to build good working relationships with professionals across the L&G business
