Are you looking for a graduate role that is technically challenging? Do you want a future that allows you to develop commercial acumen alongside your technical skills? Are you keen to have the opportunity to progress in a breadth of roles – technical or business?

We are looking for graduates who can answer “yes” to the above for our 2021 Investment Graduate Scheme. If you are successful you will join LGIM’s well-regarded investment team, which plays a pivotal role in our continued success.

Well… there’s more to say here than we could possibly include in just a few lines! The key thing to know is that your role will be broad and diverse, giving you the chance to experience first-hand several different roles within the Investments business area.

The graduate programme is all about giving you the fundamental experience and skill set to excel in the world of investment management. Your first 18 months with LGIM will see you rotate through number of different business areas, developing your professional network and expanding on your quantitative and qualitative skills. You’ll gain professional accreditation through completion of CFA Level 1 and, by the time you reach the end of the programme, we hope that you will have built a clearer picture of where your interests and experience can take you within both LGIM and the industry more generally.

  • As part of the Investment capabilities within LGIM, you could be developing expertise within: Global Fixed Income; Active Equities; Liability Driven Investments; Solutions; Multi-Asset; Index; Corporate Governance; and Real Assets. Don’t worry if some of this sounds new to you – this is what you’ll be here to learn!
  • Within these business areas, we’ll look to you to provide support in several areas, which could include: fund management; research; analysis and helping with client queries.

Some of the day to day activities could include:

  • Assisting in researching and analysing companies and markets
  • Analysing data to determine new opportunities and trends
  • Checking and reviewing fund management performance calculations
  • Supporting a review of a client’s investment strategy
  • Producing material for client updates (such as PowerPoint presentations)
  • Producing material to be used for pitching new clients

First and foremost, we are looking for people with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

  • 2.1 Degree in any subject
  • A-Level in Maths is essential but depending on what graduate scheme you are applying to, we require an A or B in A-Level Maths. We realise that some of you would like to apply for multiple roles so encourage you to submit one application to be reviewed against the different schemes.
  • Analytical mind-set, with a high level of numeracy
  • Great communication skills
  • Flexible and a team-player
  • High levels of energy, dynamism and commitment
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively

If you have any of the following, please tell us:

  • An interest in Data or Coding
  • Strong Excel skills
  • An understanding of investment markets and their drivers

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Our employees have a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, 25 days’ holiday, private medical insurance, discretionary performance related bonuses, paid overtime, a variety of share schemes, discounts at both a huge range of high street stores and our own great products. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.
