Co-ordinate the implementation of new client mandates and existing client portfolio amendments in partnership with impacted stakeholder teams

  1. With the input and approval of internal and external stakeholders, produce and co-ordinate all approvals for investment guidelines.  Creative and lateral thinking abilities are critical, as well as the ability to act as a business guardian, considering always LGIM’s standard service and operational capabilities
  2. Manage and co-ordinate all internal stakeholders involved in the Investment Management Agreement process, ensuring their comments are fully reflected in documentation and requisite approvals are obtained, escalate as required. 
  3. Communicate effectively both internally and externally on the progress of client work, holding (where required) regular working group meeting sessions with key stakeholders in order to monitor and manage progress.
  4. Ensure that the appropriate procedures are followed for all documentation production to mitigate risk and to ensure LGIM standards are maintained.
  5. Develop a clear understanding of the function of all business areas within LGIM, building and maintaining an effective network of strong working relationships within those areas.
  6. Provide final quality checks on templated legal documentation produced within the team.
  7. Rigorously apply and, where applicable, design and implement, business processes and procedures to support a risk-controlled and compliant environment within an effective governance framework.  
  8. Take an active role in transferring knowledge by training team members and (where required) the wider business.
  9. Take responsibility for changes to client portfolios/agreements necessitated by ad-hoc fund or regulatory events e.g. EMIR/MIFID II
  Essential Desirable
Academic Qualifications

Strong academic background

Degree qualified (preferably 2.1) or equivalent
 
Technical/Professional Qualifications IMC

Advanced Excel

CFA
Experience

Drafting fund guidelines / legal documentation

Experience within the investment management industry including providing an exceptional level of client service

Track record of managing, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Working within the pensions industry

Working within Compliance/Legal Dept

Training and presenting

Working with derivatives based solutions

Institutional client experience
Specialist knowledge/skills

Strong overall investment and product structure knowledge,

An understanding of LDI and derivatives knowledge (including the mechanics of OTC and ETD derivatives

Accountability for the navigation and delivery of complex and sometimes unchartered fund guidelines

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate, influence and operate at a senior management level

An understanding of the regulatory framework would be advantageous.

The Client Implementation Team provides a dedicated end-to-end client onboarding and change management service to LGIM’s Distribution team, supporting the full range of product structures offered by the company. The team is responsible for co-ordinating the take-on/mandate change related tasks and activities across the business to ensure that mandates are implemented comprehensively in accordance with our clients’ funding objective(s). Due to LGIM’s increasing international presence and continued strong growth in the LDI/Solutions space, there is a need to resource the team to effectively maintain and enhance service deliver. The successful candidate is required to be strongly conversant with the range of product structures, asset classes, financial instruments and investment strategies operated within a leading asset management firm. In addition, a sound understanding of the regulatory environment and industry specific matters is required.
