We are seeking an experienced Investment Analyst for our Inflation Plus team who run a series of global, long-only, high conviction, multi-asset concentrated funds.

The Active Equity team at LGIM manages approximately £7.5billion on behalf of its clients and is organised into globally focused, solutions-driven investment teams: Inflation Plus, Global Income (UK, Europe, Asia) and High Alpha (UK Small & Mid Cap, UK Large Cap, European Large Cap).  This role is for an Investment Analyst position in the Inflation Plus team who runs a series of global, long-only, high conviction, multi-asset concentrated funds with an investment horizon typically between 3 and 5 years.  The Inflation Plus team operates under a highly disciplined, bottom-up fundamental research, iterative team process. 

 

Excellent academics, experience operating across multiple regions and sectors and an in-depth understanding of detailed investment research are highly desirable.  Being highly numerate and IT literate are essential to the role and the successful candidate is also likely to be able to conduct original deep-dive analyses and research on defined sectors, markets or investment themes, combining good levels of technical expertise and substantial levels of fundamental research ability. Comprehensive investment analysis is to be produced from scratch with the ability to work independently on a number of long-term research projects as well as being able to work collaboratively with other members of the team.  The role offers a significant opportunity to rapidly make a valuable contribution to the team investment portfolio, process and performance. 

 

Reporting to the Head of the Inflation Plus Investment Team, the Investment Analyst is expected to work closely with the other members of the Inflation Plus team but also other senior team members across LGIM.  The Investment Analyst will also interact on a regular basis with external companies C-levels management, Investor Relations and sell-side research providers; therefore, excellent communication and presentation skills are essential to be successful in the role. 

  • Must be educated to degree-level, and CFA and/or ACA likely
  • Will have worked within Equities previously within a buy-side or sell-side firm or gained experience from investment banking or management consulting
  • Strongly desirable experience of deep-dive bottom-up primary fundamental research with good problem-solving skills
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a strong working knowledge of Excel including in-depth experience of operating and financial modeling
  • Some previous experience with Bloomberg would be a plus
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly in a team based process environment, with excellent written and spoken English
