We are seeking an experienced Equities Analyst to join part of the growing UK based team.

This role is for an Equity Analyst / Deputy Fund manager position in the Global Income team. The team manages long-only, high conviction funds with an investment horizon of around 3 years. The investment approach has a clear focus on paying an attractive price for a stock based on bottom-up fundamental research on the company and its industry. This value approach naturally leads to a market-beating level of income for the funds.

 

The employee will work closely with the senior Fund Managers who run the UK and Europe-ex-UK funds. This will involve analysing potential new investment ideas and existing stock holdings, and assisting in all the aspects of managing the funds. The role offers a significant opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the portfolios, team process and performance.  Ultimately the joiner should become the lead manager for a fund, when experience and opportunity allow.

 

The employee is also expected to work closely with the other members of the Active Equities team and also other senior team members across LGIM.  They will interact on a regular basis with external companies’ senior management, Investor Relations and sell-side research providers; therefore, excellent communication and presentation skills are essential to be successful in the role.

 

Excellent academics, experience operating across multiple sectors and an in-depth understanding of detailed investment research are highly desirable.  Being highly numerate and IT literate are essential to the role. The successful candidate should combine good levels of technical expertise and substantial levels of fundamental research ability.

  • Educated to degree-level, and CFA or ACA likely
  • In-depth investment experience, including equities
  • Previous experience from within an Investment Management company - preferably with Pan European, Europe, or UK experience
  • Highly numerate and analytical - and IT literate (including strong Excel skills)
  • Ideally experience of Bloomberg
  • Efficient with time and able to prioritise and focus on most important issues
  • Self-starter, resilient, accurate. Likely to be an able presenter, confident
