Responsible for driving business growth of LGIM Retail to achieve aspirational performance targets by identifying opportunities for Retail products and services through new and existing business partners . There will be an emphasis on the Retail strategically important clients including Platforms, Life companies, Bank and Building Societies. Advisory firms Research Houses and D2C firms.

Purpose:

Responsible for driving business growth of LGIM Retail to achieve aspirational performance targets by identifying opportunities for Retail products and services through new and existing business partners . There will be an emphasis on the Retail strategically important clients including Platforms, Life companies, Bank and Building Societies. Advisory firms Research Houses and D2C firms.

  • To meet or exceed sales performance targets, delivering revenue by compliant product distribution and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Treating Customers Fairly (TCF): Ensure all activity is in accordance with the Group’s requirements and regulatory duties, including that customers are treated fairly in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and TCF Policy.
  • Build and manage the investment relationship with existing strategic partnership arrangements to achieve business targets and identify areas to enhance and grow the relationship. Establish the appropriate levels of service with each client to ensure that both technical and value add service is delivered. Obtain an in depth understanding of their business needs.
  • Set and execute a pro-active contact strategy to design the investment proposition appropriate for partnership arrangements including fund selection and commercial terms to drive the opportunities through to contract completion.
  • Work with the fund management teams and product development on new product initiatives for partnership accounts.
  • Research, identify high potential business partnership opportunities and take the lead for LGIM Retail on new client partnership opportunities leading the engagement and negotiations with prospective partners.
  • Collaborate with other departments including regional and Wealth sales, marketing and change teams when delivering new opportunities to ensuring smooth implementation of initiatives.
  • Research and identify high potential business partnership opportunities to which we can provide LGIM Retail products which deliver against the business growth objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of competitors and market trends. Use knowledge to identify business opportunities and incorporate into the client business plans.  
  • Maintain high level knowledge of L&G Investment’s unit trust range and the investment philosophy and process working closely with the LGIM (Legal & General  Investment Management) fund management team where necessary

Essential Academic Qualifications: Full IMC or equivalent or studying towards qualification

Essential Specialist knowledge / skills:

  • Product: Strong investment knowledge and a clear understanding of LGIM Products.
  • Process: Good understanding of investment processes and philosophies
  • External knowledge: Detailed knowledge of Intermediaries and Wealth clients and their business drivers. Have a clear understanding of competitors and market dynamics
  • Systems: Lipper, (CRM), Salesforce, Financial Clarity
  • Sales ability: Deliver product targets from a portfolio consisting of up to 30 -50 clients. 
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner
  • Organisation: Ability to manage workflow and contact calendar to ensure follow up to all sales calls in a timely manner
