To help originate, analyse, execute and manage illiquid private credit investments for LGIM managed funds focusing on the real estate debt sectors.

Principal Accountabilities:

Help filter new potential investments according to value and suitability for LGIM client funds based upon fundamental and detailed investment analysis and understanding of the dynamics of the sector.

Work closely with the colleagues in the private credit investment team and the illiquid credit team to analyse new investments and to negotiate and execute transactions in line with client requirements to obtain the best value.

Pro-actively manage existing investments by reviewing regular reports and managing waivers and approvals according to the relevant procedures. Our approach is to seek to address any issues early on and to update our risk views in real time.

Help manage key internal and external counterparty and borrower relationships pro-actively.

Support marketing to new investor clients where required as well as helping with the marketing infrastructure investment solutions to borrowers, public sector counterparties and other market participants.

Support the team in the formulation of the investment strategy for the sector in particular identifying transactions and sub-sectors that could be appropriate investment targets for LGIM clients.

Help support the provision of on-going client reporting and contribute to the periodic review of private credit procedures.

Qualifications

The role is a dynamic one where large numbers of transactions are reviewed in order to screen out poor value or unsuitable investments

The ability to structure and execute transactions which achieve the required credit rating level is critical.

The candidate needs to be organised, focused, and self-motivated with strong communication and analytical skills.

It is necessary to be able to work with a variety of investment formats and also to be able to develop a transaction entirely in house if necessary.

Knowledge

Understanding of LGIM investment style where the focus is on value and investing in transactions which enhance client profitability or work from a portfolio risk management perspective

Strong financial modelling skills are an advantage

Detailed knowledge of the different investment documentation appropriate to the various sub-sectors

Familiarity with rating agency methodologies in the relevant sectors are critical

Experience

Vast experience of real estate, asset or structured finance investment in either banking or buyside. Primarily history in UK

Leadership

The candidate needs to build and maintain confidence of the key stakeholders including internal and external clients; senior management, portfolio manager, credit analysts and research team

The candidate needs to represent LGIM’s values and set a positive personal example and provide advice and mentorship to junior team members
