To perform regulatory reporting activities and related data provisioning in relation to investment risk exposures across multiple regulatory regimes;                                    

To perform risk assessment and rating of benchmark and absolute return portfolios – and to provide oversight of such outsourced activities - across multiple investment strategies, in line with regulatory and / or internally defined methodologies.

Risk Measurement

  • Design and maintain a scalable and effective process around the calculation of risk ratings and indicators; including data feeds, definition of appropriate measurement methodology and calculation solution.
  • Maintaining an effective relationship with Middle Office, Back Office and IT to ensure that Risk requirements are appropriately communicated and that upstream process/systems changes are well understood.
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with third-party systems and data providers and knowledge of their products and development plans.
  • On-going maintenance and improvement of the risk processes with a focus on standardisation and automation.

Risk Reporting

  • Assist with developing/maintaining the regulatory risk reporting, especially in relation to LGIM’s AIFMD and UCITS funds.
  • Provision of regulatory risk reports and portfolio risk data to support on-going and ad hoc regulatory reporting.
  • Provision of risk ratings for absolute return and benchmark funds and oversee third party providers of such services.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the Compliance team and the Regulatory Reporting team, in order to keep abreast of any new requirements and regulations.
  • Timely escalation and resolution of risk issues.

Risk Oversight

  • Assist with independent risk oversight for specific funds/businesses – maintaining a detailed understanding of underling positions, risk drivers, performance outcomes and market dynamics/volatility.
  • Provide periodic oversight of outsourced risk assessment and risk rating services.
  • Advocate risk awareness and provide effective challenge.

Value-Add

  • Provide support to the product teams with regards to their requirements about risk disclosures at the time of new fund launches or when any material changes are being implemented in a fund.
  • Support LGIM’s distribution and product development initiatives through the provision of high-quality risk information and participation in due-diligence and other client interaction.
  • Participation into the development and execution of the Investment Risk strategy.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of the overall Investment Risk Framework.

Professional Requirements

  • Sufficient understanding of VaR, risk sensitivity and stress scenarios.
  • Knowledge of ex-post risk measures especially for UCITS funds (Volatility, SRRI).
  • Good experience of risk management or similar.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding across a range of markets and products  including derivatives.
  • IT literate (experience using VBA, SQL etc an advantage).
  • Detailed understanding of third party risk and performance data services.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements with regards to investment risk: exposure, leverage, volatility, stress testing, liquidity profile across multiple regulatory regimes (UCITS and AIFMD in particular).
