We are looking for an enthusiastic sustainability professional to identify and manage sustainability projects across our Real Estate portfolio.

We are looking for an enthusiastic sustainability professional to identify and manage sustainability projects across our Real Estate portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability you will need to be a self-motivated, with excellent communications skills and the ability to understand environmental data and how it relates to various property types.  Particularly you will need to understand how energy and water is both metered and used within multi –let, owner managed properties and liaise closely with our managing agents to monitor performance.

  • Co-ordinate and manage the data collection of all ESG factors from a range of managing agents and other sources, using a proprietary database platform, across Real Assets (RA).
  • Assist asset managers in driving improvement in sustainability performance throughout the investment lifecycle. 
  • Undertake energy management assessments of various property types within our portfolio and assist asset managers in developing accurate Asset Sustainability Plans for each asset and Annual Sustainability Action Plans (ASAPs)..
  • Work with the asset managers to ensure the ASAP measures are implemented, ensure results are measured and review the success of each measure.
  • Help develop enhanced sustainability standards for new developments and major refurbishments both in commercial and residential areas.
  • Ensure that our current policies, processes and action plans can be applied across the infrastructure side of the business, adapting current systems where required.
  • Supporting external communications to investors and stakeholders on ESG processes and performance.
  • Coordinate and complete the reporting submissions for external surveys and benchmarking initiatives such as  UNPRI, AODP, CDP, GRESB
  • Participate in external networks  etg: Better Building’s Partnership, UKGBC. BPF, GRESB etc.
  • Develop relationships and engage with occupiers to support further ESG integration and understanding.

Qualifications:

  • BSc. in a subject related to responsible investing /ESG / sustainability.
  • Preferably an MSc. in an ESG related subject.
  • Preferable a CIBSE Low Carbon Assessor

Experience of:

  • Monitoring, targeting and reporting environmental data, ideally within a property sector setting.
  • Carbon foot printing work to GHG protocol standards.
  • Undertaking energy audits within a range of property types and calculating costs and paybacks for various demand side reduction projects
  • Typical energy and water efficiency measures that apply to a range of property sectors.
  • Developing carbon management plans across property portfolio’s and monitoring their implementation.
  • Benchmarking environmental performance across Real Estate and applying industry benchmarks to various properties.
  • Experience of preparing sustainability reports to recognized standards such as the GHG Protocol, GRI and INREV guidelines.
  • Wider knowledge of sustainability areas within Real Estate and current networking within the sector.
