The focus of the role is working across the Property Fund Accounting function to support the team in financial control and financial reporting. This will involve supporting accounting for all financial transactions required in the preparation of fund valuations and annual statutory accounts. The job holder will gain experience of fund accounting, fund structures and the real estate sector from this role. The role requires liaison with members of the finance, operations, asset management, managing agents and external advisors.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Fund Accounting Trainee vacancy is in the Real Estate Fund Accounting Function within LGIM Investment Operations Department. The team has responsibility for valuation of real estate funds, fund accounting (including maintenance of accounting books of record) and tax compliance reporting (VAT, Partnership tax). The team of 25 people supports daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly valued funds.      

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involvement in the maintenance and control of primary accounting records include:
  • Posting and reconciliation of cash;
  • Assisting with production of Management Information;
  • Assisting with the preparation of NAV statements and investor reporting packs;
  • Assisting with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Assisting with the preparation of property fund data;
  • Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and other tax compliance reporting;
  • Cash management including arranging payments, managing investor drawdowns and monitoring liquidity;
  • Maintaining and updating finance procedures where necessary;
  • Support to fund managers, asset managers and fund accountants with any valuation and accounting queries;
  • Assisting with change projects where appropriate.

  • Academic Qualifications: Degree
